Today we are going to talk about something I’ve heard a lot of questions about lately- how to start a podcast. A few weeks ago I started a new podcast for one of my clients, Thrive Coworking for Women, which is the coworking space I work out of. As part of the sales & marketing team for Thrive, we’ve talked about starting a media company to help support women who work not only in the space but all around the world. One day I was sitting in my office, and it happened to be Free Coworking Day, and one of the speakers from our recent event was here working at Thrive. It came to me that she would be the perfect first guest on our Podcast, and I should interview her that day and kick off our new podcast as soon as possible. I brought her in my office, recorded a 15-minute episode, but then needed to actually DO something with that content- which meant spending the afternoon creating a podcast where that interview could live so I could launch the episode really quickly so we could capitalize on the audience for the panel she spoke on at our event.
Last week on the launch of my new blog, I shared a behind the scenes look at how I come up with my Goal Setting each month. This week I am going to show you what we have come up with for the July goals here at Rosemary Watson | Productions so you can see our system in action. As we talked about last week, I focus on Personal Goals, Business Goals, and Life Goals.
While I would never consider myself a natural-born journaler, I am 110% a natural-born list maker and note taker. I have hordes of filled up spiral notebooks covered in rainbow colored ink on every subject under the sun. In high school, I prided myself on perfecting multiple versions of my handwriting and taking copious detailed notes in all of my classes. I definitely learn by listening, writing down notes on what I’ve heard, re-listening, and editing the notes I took. Even now as an adult I will be driving and listening to a podcast episode and have to pull over to pull out my iPad and Apple pen, and furiously scribble down notes before I’m late to pick up my kids from school. There’s just so much information and content that I consume throughout my day, and when something hits me as inspiration- I simply have to write it down or it’s lost forever.
